From September 10th to 11th, the APEC 16th Energy Ministerial Meeting was held in Beijing. Ding Xuexiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The theme of this meeting was "Building a Inclusive, Innovative, and Coordinated Asia-Pacific Energy Community". Energy ministers or representatives from APEC economies, heads of relevant international organizations attended the meeting. Ministers and officials from APEC economies issued the Joint Statement of the 2026 APEC Energy Ministerial Meeting and formed three professional consensus outcomes, providing practical guidance from the three dimensions of inclusiveness, innovation, and coordination.

Amb. Zhan Yongxin, Co-Chair of PECC and Chair of CNCPEC, attended the meeting and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and the second open discussion session. Amb. Zhan stated that APEC has achieved many positive outcomes in cooperation in the energy field. In the future, with the empowerment of technological innovation, we should uphold the principles of openness, inclusiveness, and collaboration, continuously enhance the overall resilience and safety level of regional energy systems, promote the safe, stable, clean, and efficient utilization of various types of energy, and ensure that energy cooperation benefits all economies and people in the Asia-Pacific region.
 
As one of the series of activities of the Beijing Energy Conference Week for the "China Year" of APEC 2026, the 12th Asia-Pacific Forum on Energy Sustainable Development and the High-Level Dialogue between APEC Energy Ministers and Business Leaders was held in Beijing on the morning of September 10. Themed "Energy Governance and Sustainable Development in the Asia-Pacific Region", the forum featured discussions among delegates on the challenges and strategies of collaborative energy governance in the Asia-Pacific region. Amb. Zhan attended the forum and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. Amb. Zhan stated that the Asia-Pacific region, as the most economically active, energy-intensive, and transformationally potential region in the world, is a key force in maintaining global energy stability and promoting inclusive and shared energy benefits. Only by achieving full coverage of clean, reliable, and affordable energy services, narrowing the regional energy development gap, and enabling all economies and people to share the fruits of energy transformation can we lay a solid foundation for sustainable energy development and ensure steady and long-term progress in the Asia-Pacific energy transformation.
