On September 15th, the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Roundtable on Asia-Pacific Regional Cooperation was held in Haikou, Hainan. The theme of the meeting was "Towards an Asia-Pacific Community: Vision and Action". Mu Hong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, China’s Chief Representative to the BFA and Vice Chairman of the BFA Board, Don Pramudwinai, a member of the BFA's council and former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand, Feng Fei, Secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, and Chen Xu, APEC 2026 Senior Officials' Meeting Chair, attended the opening ceremony of the meeting. About 300 representatives from more than a dozen economies attended the meeting.
 
Amb. Zhan Yongxin, Chair of CNCPEC, attended the meeting and delivered a speech at the first session of the meeting. Amb. Zhan stated that the international situation is characterized by both changes and turbulence, and the world stands at a crossroads of development. He looked forward to APEC adhering to its original mission and purpose, anchoring its goal of building an Asia-Pacific Community, adhering to open regionalism, facing up to the development gap, seizing the opportunities presented by digitalization, intelligence, and green transformation, clarifying the focus of cooperation in the coming years, and providing clear action guidelines for regional cooperation. At the same time, he emphasized the deep participation of the business community, fully incorporating frontline voices from the business sector, transforming market practices into policy initiatives, making APEC cooperation outcomes visible and tangible, and truly benefiting businesses and the public.

The Roundtable on Asia-Pacific Regional Cooperation is one of the key brand activities of the BFA. It aims to create a high-end platform for promoting dialogue, enhancing mutual trust, deepening cooperation, and seeking common development, thereby facilitating open, inclusive, and win-win development in the Asia-Pacific region. This meeting focuses on in-depth discussions on core topics such as "Accelerating Regional Economic Integration and Advancing Towards the Vision of the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area", "Deepening Connectivity and Supply Chain Integration to Build a Strong Barrier for Energy and Economic Security", and "The Digital Economy and Global Governance Innovation in the AI Era". It contributes wisdom and practical solutions to promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for the Asia-Pacific and continuously enhancing the level of regional economic integration development.
