On September 21st, the APEC 8th Human Resources Development Ministerial Meeting was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Chinese State Councilor Shen Yiqin attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Ms. Wang Xiaoping, China's Minister of Human Resources and Social Security, presided over the meeting. Mr. Xin Changxing, Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, delivered a welcome speech. Human resources ministers or representatives from APEC member economies, as well as representatives from relevant international organizations, attended the meeting.

Amb. Zhan Yongxin, the Co-Chair of PECC and Chair of CNCPEC, attended the meeting and delivered a speech under the topic of "Promoting High-Quality and Full Employment and Employment-Friendly Economic Development". Amb. Zhan stated that the global population structure is undergoing profound adjustments, and digital technology and AI are comprehensively reshaping production models and employment patterns. The Asia-Pacific labor market is experiencing structural and deep-seated changes. Asia-Pacific economies should build an industrial employment system that adapts to the times, unleashing the dividends of transformational development; advance inclusive development to broaden equal employment access for all; deepen regional coordination to jointly tackle common challenges, assist in the modernization transformation of human resources in the Asia-Pacific, and inject continuous talent momentum into building a more prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Asia-Pacific Community.
Ministers and officials from APEC economies issued the Joint Statement of the 8th APEC Human Resources Development Ministerial Meeting (Nanjing Statement), unanimously agreeing to jointly shape modern human resources, contribute to the construction of the Asia-Pacific Community, and provide action guidance for future cooperation in the field of APEC human resources development.
