        On 29th March, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and CNCPEC co-hosted the symposium on “AIIB and Regional Economic Cooperation”. Amb. Su Ge and Zheng Quan, Director of the Strategic Investment Bureau of AIIB, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Sun Yuanjiang, Senior Communication Officer of the AIIB, conducted an in-depth interpretation of the policy and business of the AIIB and exchanged ideas with the experts. More than 30 experts from domestic think tanks and colleges attended the meeting.

In his speech, Director Zheng Quan pointed out that the AIIB has been operating for more than two years and has achieved many achievements. At the same time, it has been learning and accumulating experience. In the future, it will increase investment in non-sovereign financing and other areas, and further strengthen cooperation with relevant enterprises and try to carry out AIIB's exclusive financing project.

Amb. Su Ge pointed out that we should carry out Major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics in the new era, study the current situation in the Asia-Pacific region, and understand the importance of the “Belt and Road Initiative”. The new era calls for a new agenda for new ideas. CNCPEC would like to work with AIIB and academic colleagues to contribute to the economic development and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and jointly build an open Asia-Pacific economy.

Sun Yuanjiang made an interpretation on the structure, operation mode and project progress of the AIIB, emphasizing that the operational concept of the AIIB is "lean, clean and green". He particularly emphasized that AIIB, as a multilateral development bank born in the 21st century, pays special attention to adopting the highest international standards in governance structure, especially the environmental and social standards of its investment projects. He encouraged all experts and scholars to objectively and accurately observe the policies and influence of the AIIB, disseminate the innovative business philosophy and culture of the AIIB, and let the public know more about this new international institution. In the interactive session, Sun Yuanjiang answered questions from the audience.
