Amb. Su Ge heads a Delegation to attend the 25th General Meeting of Pacific Economic Cooperation Council

On May 7-8, 2018, the 25th General Meeting of Pacific Economic
Cooperation Council (PECC) was held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Amb. Su Ge headed a
delegation to attend the meeting and deliverd a speech. The theme of the
conference was “Global Disorder: the Need for New Regional Architecture and
Business Model”. Indonesian Foreign Minister Ratno Marsudi, Finance Minister
Sri Mulyani Indrawati, and Industry Minister Airlangga Hantarto attended the meeting and delivered important speeches. More than 200
representatives from PECC member economies attended the meeting.
In her speech, Minister Ratno stated that Premier Li Keqiang’s visit to Indonesia has promoted the continuous development of bilateral relations. As an important force of ASEAN, Indonesia will work to promote the centrality of ASEAN and play a more important role in regional and global affairs. In her speech, Minister Indrawati proposed to strengthen cooperation and communication among the members of the G20, jointly resist trade protectionism and promote global economic development. In his speech, Minister Hantarto put forward the "Indonesia 4.0" strategy, emphasizing that Indonesia will make full use of the opportunities of Industry 4.0 and technological innovation to achieve economic leap-forward development.
In his speech, Amb. Su Ge reviewed several waves of globalization and pointed out that globalization is an irresistible historical trend. Countries should conform to the trend of globalization, adhere to the concept of openness and inclusiveness, strengthen cooperation, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Executive Vice-Chair Mr. Yu Qingtai and Vice-Chair Mr. Zhang Xianyi also attended the above mentioned meeting.
