CNCPEC Honorary Chair Huang Mengfu Leads a CNCPEC Delegateion Visiting three Countries in Latin America

On
October 14-24, 2018, a CNCPEC delegation was invited to visit Peru, Chile and Colombia
in Latin America. Honorary Chair Huang Mengfu, Vice Chairman of the Tenth and
the Eleventh CPPCC National Committee, former Chairman of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, headed
the delegation, accomanied by Deputy head of the delegation Chair Su Ge and
Vice Chair Zhang Xianyi.
The
political, business and academic circles of the host countries attached high
importance to the visits and held extensive and in-depth communication with the
delegation.
In
Colombia, Honorary Chair Huang held meetings with Acting Minister for Foreign
Affairs, and Chair of Colombia-China Friendship Association, former Chief Judge
of National Administrative Court separately. He also had a round table
discussion with participants from Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ministry of Trade,
Industry and Tourism, Ministry of Science Techonogy and Information, Ministry
of Transport, Colombia-China Chamber of Investment and Trade, Association of
Entrepreneurs of Colombia and University of Colombia. Mr. Huang delivered a
apeech in meeting with Members of Colombian Parliament and Mayors of cities
alongside the Pacific of Colombia.
In
his visit to Peru, Honorary Chair Huang held a meeting with General Director of
Department for Asian Pacific of Peru Foreign Affairs Ministry, President of
Peru Foreign Affairs College, Coordinator of Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry
and representatives from National University of San Marcos (Universidad
Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, UNMSM). Mr. Huang also met with Chair of
Association of Exporters and various industrial representatives in Peru.
During
his stay in Chile, Honorary Chair Huang met with Coordinator for Chile APEC
2019. He held a conference on economic globalization, the current regional
economic situation and the connection between Belt and Road Initiative and Latin
American development, as well as other important issues of common concerns with
President of the Pacific Foundation, former governor of the central bank,
former Vice Foreign Minister and professors of Chile.
The
delegation discussed seperately with the three local PECCs on bilateral
cooperation and the relevant issues of preparation for the coming APEC. Both
sides reached broad consensus to further promote the partnership of equality,
mutual benefit and common development between China and Latin America.
The
delegation also met with representatives from Chinese enterprises based in the
three countries and local oversea Chinese.
